New Evidence Pushes Back the Origins of Indus Settlements to the 7th Millennium

An Article published in Journal Nature claim that Bhirrana is one of the primitive sites in India and the history dates back to the 7th millennium BCE and the evidence is based on high resolution oxygen isotope (δ18O) record of animal teeth-bone phosphates from an archaeological trench itself at Bhirrana. Study suggests that other cause like change in subsistence strategy by shifting crop patterns rather than climate change was responsible for Harappan collapse.
